Prospective Clients

ADW places service dogs with client recipients requiring individual and family support for mobility impairments, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, seizure disorders (within New Mexico only), type 1 diabetes (within New Mexico only), anxiety, depression, and PTSD. All applications are reviewed on a case by case basis. ADW does not train leader dogs for people who are blind or have a visual impairment or hearing dogs for people who are deaf or who have a hearing impairment. After reviewing the Eligibility Criteria, you can request the appropriate application below.

This form is to be completed by the prospective Courthouse, Crisis Response or Facility Dog Team Facilitator (that is the individual who will assume the responsibility of managing the facility dog’s work and interactions, as well as managing their health and well-being at all times.) Facilities interested in a working dog for their agency are invited to contact ADW CEO/President Linda Milanesi for an introduction to the ADW Facility Dog program and to request an application: 505-986-9748

Owner Self Training

ADW assistance dogs owner self training

The ADW Owner/Self-Training Assistance Dog course is designed to teach clients to train their own dogs to be their service dog. Training your own service dog is an in-depth process requiring discipline, time and commitment, but is immensely rewarding.
